Vaelory ("we", "our", or "us") runs the Vaelory website at vaelory.com and the Vaelory app for Android. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to both the website and the app — they use the same account and the same data.

Information You Give Us

Account details: your name, email address and password. Passwords are stored by our authentication provider in hashed form — we never see them.
Profile and onboarding answers: date of birth, zodiac sign, gender, relationship status, the main question you came with, and your answers about beliefs, decision style and how you feel. These help experts give you a more personal reading.
Chat content: messages you exchange with experts, reactions, messages you save or bookmark, and paid messages you leave for an expert who is offline.
Feedback: ratings and reviews you leave after a reading, and reports you send us.

Information Collected Automatically

Country: when you sign up we look up the country of your IP address. We store only the country, not the IP address.
Device type: whether you use iOS, Android or a computer.
Usage and attribution: pages you visit on our site, the link or campaign that brought you to us (referrer and UTM tags), and a random visitor ID kept in your browser. This is our own analytics — we do not use Google Analytics or advertising trackers.
Activity: when you signed up and were last active, session start and end times, reading duration, and Lumens spent.
Purchases: your Lumens balance, transaction history, and for website purchases the Whop payment ID, amount and status; for in-app purchases the Google Play order ID, product and purchase token. We never receive your card or bank details.

How We Use Your Information

To run your account and the live chat with experts, including billing readings per minute
To show your expert the context they need for a reading (see "What Experts See" below)
To process and verify purchases, apply bonuses, and handle refunds
To send service emails — account confirmation, password reset, and reminders about your account. You can turn reminders off with the unsubscribe link in any reminder email
To keep the service safe, prevent fraud and abuse, and fix technical problems
To understand which pages and campaigns work, using aggregated statistics

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

What Experts See

Experts on Vaelory are independent readers. When you chat with an expert, they can see your name, zodiac sign, date of birth, country, gender, device type, your onboarding answers, your chat history with them, your rating of their readings, your Lumens balance, and how long you have talked with them. Experts do not see your email address, password or payment details.

Payments

Purchases on our website are processed by Whop (Whop, Inc.), and purchases in the Vaelory Android app by Google Play. They handle your payment details under their own privacy policies (Whop, Google); we only receive a confirmation of the purchase so we can add Lumens to your account. To pay on the website, the checkout form is shown by Whop on our page; we pass Whop your account email to prefill it and an internal account ID so the payment is credited to the right account.

Service Providers We Share Data With

We share data only with providers that help us run Vaelory, and only what each of them needs:

Supabase — database, authentication and file storage. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
Netlify — website hosting and server functions.
Whop — website payments and refunds.
Google Play — in-app payments and refunds.
Resend — delivery of our emails (your email address and the content of the email).
Cloudflare Turnstile — protection against automated sign-ups.
IP geolocation services (ip-api.com, ipwho.is, ipapi.co) — receive your IP address once at sign-up to tell us your country.
Telegram — sends our team a notification with your name and email when a new account is created.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users and experts.

Local Storage

Vaelory uses your browser's local storage (not advertising cookies) to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and store the random visitor ID used for our own analytics.

How Long We Keep Data

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, onboarding answers, chat messages, saved messages, reviews, reports and email preferences. We keep purchase and transaction records (amounts, dates, order IDs) and reading statistics (duration, Lumens spent, star rating, expert) without your name or email, because we need them for accounting, tax, refunds, expert payouts and fraud prevention.

Deleting Your Account

You can delete your account and data at any time:

In the app or on the website: open Profile → Delete account, or
Go to vaelory.com/delete-account — this page works even if you no longer have the app installed.

Deletion is permanent. Unused Lumens are lost when you delete your account.

Your Rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or stop processing it, and you can withdraw consent at any time. Write to us at the address below; we reply within 30 days. If you are in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Age Restriction

Vaelory is only for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will change the date at the top and, for significant changes, show a notice on the platform.
